Cranston police arrest suspect after standoff in armed robbery investigation

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Cranston police blocked part of Warwick Avenue for hours Wednesday morning because of an armed robbery investigation.

Police said a suspect inside a home there was eventually arrested.

Officers had established a perimeter around the house and evacuated nearby residents.

Police said the case was connected to an armed robbery in Pawtucket.
