Cranston police investigate bank robbery

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) – Police in Cranston are investigating a bank robbery that happened Monday morning.
In a release, Colonel Michael Winquist said the robbery happened around 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Citizens Bank inside of the Stop and Shop on Garfield Avenue.
Police said the suspect is described as a black male, standing 5’9″. The suspect was wearing a dark colored hat, dark suit jacket, a blue button-down shirt, a plaid tie, and a white facemask at the time of the bank robbery.
The suspect allegedly passed a note and left the bank with “an undisclosed amount of cash.” He left the scene in a two-door black Hyundai or Nissan.
