Cranston Police launch 2024 Citizens’ Academy
CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) – Locals interested in learning more about law enforcement have a new opportunity to do so.
The Cranston Police Department is now accepting applications for its 2024 Citizens’ Police Academy.
Officials say the Cranston PD Training Division will provide this unique opportunity to a limited number of people.
Those accepted will take part in classroom presentations and have the chance to participate in police scenario training, according to organizers.
Police say candidates must be at least 18 years old to be considered and must complete an online registration form to enter.
The ten-week program begins the week of April 3 and will meet on Wednesday nights from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. through June 5.
Officials say the academy is free to all, and the application deadline is March 22.
