Update: Missing 87-year-old woman found safe

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) – Cranston police have called off the search for missing 87-year-old  Virginia Bunker after locating her in Massachusetts.

Cranston Police Major Todd Patalano released a statement just after 8:30 p.m. Monday night that said Bunker was located near the Vermont border.

She had obtained a vehicle and traveled on her own accord, Patalano said.

Police have now suspended the Silver Alert and Code Red notifications.
