Cranston police warn drivers of traffic changes amid road work

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Cranston police said Tuesday that traffic will be impacted by road construction.

The department warned drivers to expect road closures, detours, and delays in the area of Cranston Street and Garfield Avenue.

Police said the traffic changes are due to necessary road construction. Detours will include access to businesses, homes, and the police department.

Police said it will last until 5 p.m. Tuesday and will continue Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Detours will be marked and flaggers will direct traffic.

Police said drivers should seek alternate routes.
