Cranston Public Library announces new community outreach van for underserved neighborhoods

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cranston Public Library announced a new community outreach van on Friday.
The van, called Branch7, will be used to bring library services, materials, and programs to underserved neighborhoods that are far away from libraries.
Officials said it’s essentially a library on wheels.
The van is filled with materials and has WIFI.
People can use the van to sign up for library cards and check out books.
The first outreach event with Branch7 will be at the fall farmer’s market at the Bain Track next Saturday, Nov. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The van was funded in part by a grant from the Rhode Island Office of Library and Information Services.
