Crash in Attleboro sends 2 people to hospital

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — The Attleboro Fire Department said two people were hospitalized after a crash in Attleboro Monday night.

Firefighters responded to South Avenue near Greenfield Street around 8:15 p.m. for a crash.

At the scene, crews found two cars with “heavy front-end damage,” with one driver trapped inside, according to the department.

The driver was freed from their car by firefighters and taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

The other driver was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

Officials did not release information on the two victims’ condition.

Both directions of South Avenue were closed due to the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
