UPDATE: Juvenile driver may face traffic citations after weekend accident

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (WLNE) – A teenager may face traffic violations after driving the car involved an accident this weekend that sent five juveniles to a local hospital.
At approximately 9:10 p.m. on August 18, Portsmouth Police were dispatched to 936 Middle Road after receiving word of a vehicle accident.
At the scene, Police found a 2011 Toyota Camry that had veered off the road and struck a tree and stone wall.
Inside the car were five teens aged sixteen to seventeen. When police arrived, the driver and all four passengers were conscious and alert.
All five teens were transported to local hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.
Officials say the operator of the vehicle may face traffic citations, pending the outcome of an investigation into the accident.

Portsmouth Police are investigating after a car crash Saturday night sent 5 young victims to the hospital.
Police said the single-car crash happened around 9:15 p.m. Saturday on Middle Road when the vehicle the victims were traveling in struck a stone wall.
The 5 victims, all juveniles, were transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital for treatment.
Portsmouth Police have no further information at this time regarding the victims or the extent of their injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
