Crash into river on I-495 in Taunton stops morning traffic

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Traffic on Route I-495 in Taunton was backed up this morning due to a vehicle that crashed into the Snake River.

Taunton Fire said they responded to the scene after a call around 6:58 a.m.

Upon arrival, crews said they located the female operator and sole occupant of the vehicle who was already out of the car and being assisted by Massachusetts State Police.

She was transported to an area hospital.

State Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the crash.
