Crews battle brush fire in Charlestown

CHARLESTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — Fire crews are working to put out a brush fire near Alton Road in Charlestown.

Initial reports say about eight acres are actively burning at this time with difficult access to hot spots.

The fire chief on scene says there are no threats to communities at this time.

They believe the fire originated from a spark from a train but the cause remains under investigation.
