Crews battle early morning fire at Schartner Farms

Fire destroyed part of Schartner Farm Thursday morning.
The fire broke out early in the morning at the farm on South County Trail.
South County Trail between Ten Rod Road and Dry Bridge Road was shut down as firefighters tried to extinguish the blaze.
Members of the Schartner family, who have run the farm for five generations, say the main stand is a total loss. The Family vows to rebuild and be open for the spring season. They say they are in the process of trying to salvage many of their crops in the greenhouses.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
