SEEKONK, MASS. (WLNE)- Crews rescued an 8-month-old deer that fell into a well in Seekonk Friday morning.

Fire crews say that neighbors reported hearing panicking noises coming from the area of Pond Street, and the deer was found in the well infront of Norm’s Auto Body.

Seekonk Fire and Bristol County Tech Rescue were successful in their rescue, with help of a state wildlife biologist.

Rescue crews say that the deer is now safe.

Crews used a tranquilizer to put the deer to sleep, and once it wakes up, they will release it into the nearby woods.

It is unknown how the deer ended up in the well.

This is a developing story, check back to ABC6 for updates.
