Cumberland Animal Control rescues dog from island

CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — Cumberland/Lincoln Animal Control said that animal control officers rescued a dog that was stranded on an island in Rawson Pond.

The officers, alongside members of the Cumberland Fire Department, used a boat to reach the island and locate Margot, the missing dog.

“Margot is now warm, safe, and receiving lots of snuggles and cuddles,” the department said in a statement.
