A Cumberland man is charged with possession of child pornography after police say he had an inappropriate relationship with teenage girl.

David Allard, 40, is charged with possession of child pornography and obstructing a police officer.

Police say they received two calls about an older man parked at Foster Field in a brown vehicle with a young female. They said this was the sixth time in the last month and a half this had happened and they were worried about the girl’s well-being.

Police arrived on scene and identified Allard and a 15-year-old Coventry teenager as the people in the car. Both initially lied about the teen’s age.

An investigation determined that Allard and the teen were engaged in an inappropriate relationship. Police seized his phone and is continuing to examine the contents.

Police say Allard has been investigated in the past for similar conduct with the teen by Smithfield Police and Plainville, MA Police.

Allard was arraigned and is being held at the ACI for violating conditions of his probation.
