Cumberland Police identify victim in fatal crash

CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cumberland Police Department identified the victim of a fatal crash that occurred on Nov. 11.

25-year-old Emma Bates, of Lincoln, died after her car struck a tree and became engulfed in flames.

The single-vehicle crash happened around 11:15 p.m. on West Wrentham Road.

Police said the vehicle was on fire and Bates was trapped inside, and after the fire was extinguished she was declared dead.
