LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) – An elementary school teacher is now accused of molesting two girls under the age of 14.
Lincoln Police arrested Nicholas Oliveira, 29, a special education teacher at Ashton Elementary School in Cumberland, on Thursday.
Oliveira has been on administrative leave since mid-August and has not been present in the classroom during this school year, according to the Cumberland School Department.
The school department also said there have been no allegations reported in the town of Cumberland and the allegations against Oliveira do not involve any Cumberland students.
Police say that this arrest comes after an investigation took place after separate incidents occurred with two juvenile females.
Oliveira was arrested on his way back home, where he was charged with 2 counts of child molestation.
He has since been released on $10,000 bail and ordered to have no contact with the victims.
