DA releases identities of two teenage victims in deadly New Bedford crash

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The Bristol County District Attorney’s office has released the identities of two teenagers who died in a single-car crash on Saturday in New Bedford.

Gabriel Bertolino Sequeira, 17, of West Yarmouth and Anne Urbanski Santos De Carvalho, 15, of Dartmouth died in the crash on Route 140 on November 1.

The incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. Saturday when Massachusetts State Police responded to a 911 call about the mile marker 2.1 incident.

Arriving personnel located a gray Honda Civic with significant passenger side damage in a wooded area to the right of the road.

They then located two occupants who had been ejected from the Civic.

Sequeira was declared deceased at the scene, and De Carvalho was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

She was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving.

The 18-year-old male Dartmouth resident driving the vehicle was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to the Bristol County DA’s office.
