Dartmouth K-9 praised after finding missing non-verbal man

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE)- A Dartmouth K-9 was praised after finding a missing man with dementia over the weekend.

Around 4 p.m. on Sunday, Mattapoisett Police requested assistance from Dartmouth’s K-9 Division to help find a missing non-verbal man with dementia.

Dartmouth’s Officer White responded with his K-9 partner, Tyr.

Tyr tracked the missing man based off a piece of his clothing.

Shortly after, Tyr found the missing man safe behind a woodpile.

“This is a great example of departments using their collective resources in order to achieve a positive result. The outcome of this incident further solidifies my belief that our K-9 Division is one of the best in the area,” said Dartmouth Police Chief Brian Levesque.
