Dartmouth man charged in deadly head-on Memorial Day weekend crash
DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — Dartmouth police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred Sunday morning in front of 422 Old Westport Road.
Officers responded to the scene of the accident at approximately 10:30 a.m. Sunday, locating two vehicles that had collided head-on.
Diane Moniz and Jeffrey Moniz, both 76 of Westport, were located by police and EMS with traumatic injuries inside of their Toyota Echo.
The couple was transported to an area hospital where they were both pronounced deceased, according to Dartmouth police.
The driver of the second vehicle, Philip Morris, 63, of Dartmouth, sustained minor injuries after police determined he crossed the double yellow line and struck the Echo head-on with his Toyota Rav 4.
Morris is charged with two counts of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation and marked lanes violation.
The investigation is ongoing.
