Dartmouth police arrest two in alleged retail theft group

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — Dartmouth police arrested two women on shoplifting charges Friday who are alleged to be part of a larger organized retail crime group.

The two suspects are accused of concealing multiple items and fleeing in a vehicle from the Kohl’s at Faunce Corner Road.

Police located the vehicle shortly after the call and conducted a traffic stop.

The two suspects admitted to stealing numerous items from the Kohl’s and were also allegedly in possession from items believed to be from other stores.

Police learned that over $4,000 worth of items had been stolen from the Kohl’s, as well as Victoria’s Secret, Bath and Body Works and Ulta Beauty.

Kaytlyn Lynch, 20 and Brooklyn Burns, 21, both of Dorchester, are charged with two counts of shoplifting over $250 by concealing merchandise and one count of receiving stolen property.

Both suspects are believed to be part of an organized retail crime group that has allegedly shoplifted thousands of dollars worth of items across Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
