New Bedford police charge Dartmouth man after two alleged robberies

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — A Dartmouth resident is facing multiple charges after police say he robbed two convenience stores in New Bedford.

33-year-old Nicholas Ouimet is charged with unarmed robbery, assault and battery and others in the alleged Monday morning incidents.

Surveillance footage from the CVS location allegedly shows Ouimet going behind the store’s counter and stealing car keys and other items, driving away a stolen vehicle.

New Bedford police say that they found him slumped over in the car a short time later with a crack pipe and a bag containing cocaine.

Ouimet was found to have allegedly robbed a Walgreens store hours earlier, according to police.
