Dartmouth police search for man accused of robbing Cumberland Farms

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — Dartmouth police said that they are looking for a man that they believe robbed a Cumberland Farms early Thursday morning.

Investigators said that a Black man in his 30’s or 40’s robbed the gas station just before 2 a.m.

The clerk told police that the man reached over the counter and stole money from the register then took off on foot towards New Bedford. As the man tried to steal the cash, the clerk tried to stop him, hurting his hand in the process. The clerk was taken to the hospital to be treated.

The alleged robber was wearing black jeans, a white t-shirt, and a black hat.

Detectives said that they are reviewing surveillance footage from the store.
