Dartmouth Police seize firearms after domestic violence arrest

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — The Dartmouth Police Department said that a number of firearms were allegedly seized after a domestic incident occurred on June 28.

34-year-old Nathan Faria, of New Bedford, was charged with two counts of carrying a firearm without a license, possessing a silencer, possessing ammunition without an FID card, 15 counts of possessing a large capacity feeding device, and violating an abuse prevention order.

Faria was taken into custody after police were called to the Dartmouth Motor Inn for a report of a domestic incident.

A search of his vehicle allegedly found a Sig Sauer M400 AR-15 assault rifle, a VR80 12 gauge shotgun, six fully loaded 30thirty round high capacity AR-15 magazines, five empty 30 round high capacity AR-15 magazines, four 10 round high capacity 12 gauge shotgun magazines, two five round 12 gauge shotgun magazines, a silencer, and thousands of rounds of assorted .556 caliber, 12 gauge , 9 MM, and 45 caliber ammunition.
