DARTMOUTH, M.A. – Dartmouth police will be getting a new station after working out of trailers for the past two years.

Tuesday night the town voted in overwhelming support of appropriating $215,000 towards designing and engineering a new police station.

From now until April the department and project manager will work to nail down a site for the new station and figure out logistics.

In April a finalized plan, including total cost is due, and from there the town will vote.

If that passes, construction will finally start on new station, and it will be done by late 2018.

More than 200 people voted Tuesday night at Dartmouth Middle School.
