DCYF calling for more funding in state budget

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Staff at the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth, and Families are coming together to ask for more funding from the state.

The staff, represented by SEIU Local 580, are coming together with state representatives to ask the General Assembly to restore $4.6 million in funding cuts in the coming budget that will be approved by the House of Representatives and State Senate.

DYCF staff has said the funding is critical to increase staffing level to be able to deliver the necessary services to the children and families they serve.
