DCYF discloses death of 2-month-old

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth, and Families disclosed the death of a two-month-old on Friday.

Damaris Teixeira, a spokesperson for the department, said the incident occurred on April 12 and a final determination of the facts occurred on May 10.

The Office of the Child Advocate has been notified.

Teixeira said because of “confidentiality laws, DCYF is prohibited from sharing additional information.”
