DCYF discloses near death of 16-year-old

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth, and Families disclosed the near death of a 16-year old on Thursday.

Damaris Teixeira, a spokesperson for the department, said the incident occurred on May 14 and the youth was involved with the department at the time.

The Office of the Child Advocate has been notified.
