DCYF discloses near-death of a child
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — According to the Department of Children, Youth and Families, the near fatality of a 12-year-old child has been filed in pursuant to the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA).
The incident occurred on March 9 with a final determination made on March 29.
DCYF shared that the Office of the Child Advocate has been notified of this occurrence.
Due to confidentiality laws, no further information could be released.
DCYF urges Rhode Islanders to report suspected cases of child abuse or neglect to the department within 24 hours of becoming aware of abuse.
