DCYF investigating case out of Newport

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) – The DCYF is investigating a maltreatment case out of Newport.

They say a 14-year-old girl was admitted to Hasbro last month because of a chronic medical condition.

However, it was quickly discovered the young woman’s condition was likely to have been caused by maltreatment.

DCYF officials say the family has had prior involvement with the agency.
