DCYF observing Child Abuse Prevention Month throughout April

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth, and Families said it will be observing Child Abuse Prevention Month through April with multiple events.

The department said it will be joined by the Parent Support Network of R.I. and Prevent Child Abuse R.I. starting on April 5 for Wear Blue Day.

The department added that the public can dress in blue to “to raise awareness about the importance of preventing child abuse.”

Other events scheduled in the state during the month include:

  • April 16 – Digital Advocacy Day (Amplify Your Voice for Children)
  • April 17 – Engaging Men in Prevention Day
  • April 20 – Healthy Kids Day at the Warwick Family YMCA
  • April 22 – Earth Day Event
