NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — Tuesday is the deadline for mail ballots in the North Kingstown special election.

The election centers around two questions: one would allow $25 million in bonds for an outdoor recreation center and emergency shelter, and the other would allow over $200 million for school purposes and a new public safety complex.

Fire Chief Scott Kettelle and members of the department created a video earlier this month that shows the need for a larger space and new equipment.

The North Kingstown Public Safety Project seeks modern equipment, locker rooms and facilities, as well as offices and storage spaces.

The current workplace has firefighters feeling cramped, and asked the public to help them have better office conditions.

Early voting for the town’s special election in November starts Wednesday.
