Dean Esserman hired by Quinnipiac University

Providence, R.I. — Former Providence Police Chief Dean Esserman has been hired by Quinnipiac University as a campus police officer.

The New Haven Register reports Esserman was hired Monday.

In his new role, he will examine the university’s emergency response plans.

Esserman resigned from his role as New Haven Police chief back in September amid allegations he berated a 19-year-old waitress at a local restaurant.
