Death investigation underway in North Kingstown

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — North Kingstown police are investigating after a woman was found dead in a motel.

Police responded to a 911 call around 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Blue Beach Motel on Post Road for a report of an unconscious and injured person in room 120.

Officers found a 53-year-old woman dead in the room. Her name was not released.

Police secured the scene and called in detectives.

The cause of death is under investigation. Police noted “the conditions of the scene indicated a potential for a suspicious death.”

Authorities said there is no threat to the community.
