Demolition continues at McCoy Stadium with main grandstand seats

Construction crews continue demolition work at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket on Monday, April 14, 2025 (WLNE).

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Demolition work at McCoy Stadium continued Monday, with construction crews knocking down part of the stadium grandstand.

Construction crews took down many of the green, red, and blue seats that fans sat in for years before the Pawtucket Red Sox moved to Worcester in 2021.

McCoy Stadium is being demolished before work starts this summer on a new, unified Pawtucket High School at the site.

Work on the new school is expected to be completed in 2029, before the school opens that fall.

The company building the new school plans to have some memories of McCoy Stadium inside the new school.
