Department of Children, Youth & Families discloses death of teenager
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Department of Children, Youth & Families disclosed the death of a teenager whose family was open to the agency on Sunday.
A 15-year-old died in an incident on Friday. No additional information on what happened to the teenager was released.
DCYF and the Office of the Child Advocate are investigating the incident.
The agency said Rhode Islanders are legally required to report known and suspected child abuse to DCYF at 1-800-RI-CHILD within 24 hours of learning of abuse or neglect.
