RIDOH officials said the form of E. coli in question may cause diarrhea and, in some cases, serious kidney failure. Illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall.
The bison meat affected by the recall features production dates from February 22, 2019 to April 30, 2019, and expiration dates up until October 8, 2020.
Any retailers or consumers who purchased the affected product are encouraged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
