TALLAHASEE, Fla. (WLNE) — Gov. Ron DeSantis’ communications director has released a statement regarding Florida’s immigration relocation program.

“Florida is not a sanctuary state. We will continue to facilitate a program to assist the transportation of illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities and states across the country,” said Fenske.

According Taryn Fenske, law enforcement officials at the border say that 40% of those crossing the border tell them they want to relocated to Florida.

Fenske said the program seeks to identify ‘illegal immigrants’ and connect them with opportunities to reach sanctuary destinations and high-wealth areas that support Pres. Biden’s open border policies.

DeSantis has caught the ire of Democrats in Massachusetts after he took credit for sending roughly 50 Venezuelan migrants to the Martha’s Vineyard Wednesday evening.

“Instead of trying to help them, he chose to charter a private jet and send them to a rural island community late in the day and without warning so they wouldn’t have the resources at the ready to support them,” Congressman Bill Keating said in a statement the night the migrants arrived in the state.

Earlier Friday, the group was relocated from the island to the Joint Base Cape Cod.
