PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Governor McKee’s office announced Wednesday that interim director of the Department of Human Services Celia Blue will be stepping down at the end of February.

Director Blue will be leaving her current role to pursue an opportunity with a non-profit organization that she helped establish in Massachusetts.

“We thank Director Blue for her dedication and public service to the State of Rhode Island,” a spokesperson for the office told ABC6.

While the Administration looks for a permanent director for the department, Yvette Mendes, currently Chief of Staff in the Executive Office of Health and Human Services will serve as the acting director of DHS.
