A warning for parents and students in Bristol County.

A suspicious man tried luring a teen into an SUV early Wednesday morning.

Police say it happened just before 7 a.m. this morning. They quickly alerted other departments in the area and those connected with the school department.

Dighton police say it was a frightening morning for a high school junior waiting for the bus after a man tried to convince the boy to get into his car.

Police say it happened on Tremont Street.

The teen told cops the man appeared to be about 40 to 50 years-old with a short graying hair and a gray beard. However, the window was not down enough for the teen to get a look at his clothes.

The high school junior told a Dighton police sergeant the SUV believed to be a black Chevy Tahoe similar to this took off toward the Rehoboth end of Tremont Street toward route 44.

Officials say if this man sounds familiar to you or you see anything to give them a call immediately.
