FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The 2022-2023 school year at Diman Regional Vocational Tech High School was back in session on Wednesday, welcoming a freshman class of 375 students.

In a building constructed for 800 students in the 1960s, Diman is currently educating 1,425 students, and has been approved to begin construction on a new building in 2023.

“We’re bursting at the seams here, the desire for a vocational education right now is definitely one of the driving factors of a new school building, but as well as the education that we provide. The hands on training, coupled with the academic education students receive, they leave Diman ready for the world,” Andrew Rebello, the assistant superintendent and principle said.

The new building is set to be complete by 2026.
