Disability advocates to hold demonstration at URI for disability justice

KINGSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Members of the Disability Advocacy Group and their allies from the University of Rhode Island will hold a demonstration for justice at the university today.

The demonstration will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Multicultural Student Services Center.

The demonstration is set to highlight the barriers members of the communities face, as well as challenges those with disabilities encounter to remove these barriers. Members of the group claim that the university lacks the support that other minority groups receive.

The group is a peer-led group of students, faculty, and staff.
