Dog dies during Providence house fire

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- A house fire in Providence left two people without a home, and a dog dead, according to the fire department.

Firefighters responded to reports of a fire at the home on Marion Avenue at about 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The crews battled heavy fire on the second floor of the home, according to fire officials.

No people were home at the time of the fire, however, a dog was inside of the home and died as a result.
