PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Dominican national pled guilty to a charge of illegal reentry on Tuesday and is facing deportation for a third time, according to Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom.

49-year-old Celso Herrera-De Los Santos was deported in 2011 and 2017, according to Bloom.

Herrera was charged with illegal reentry after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers discovered he was being held at the Adult Correctional Institutions in May.

Bloom said Herrera was in the ACI after he was charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession with intent to deliver 1 ounce to 1 kilogram of cocaine.

The defendant pled guilty on Tuesday for illegal reentry.

Herrera is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 23.
