Donations collected for Middletown family; investigators still working on fire cause

By News Staff
Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fatal fire in Middletown that killed a 7-year-old boy and injured his two sisters.
The State Fire Marshal’s office says faulty or non-existent smoke detectors could be to blame, but they’re still investigating whether that’s a factor. They are awaiting an interview with one of the sisters who remains in the hospital.
Meanwhile donations are being collected to help the family.
The school district along with the Martin Luther King, Jr., Community Center are accepting gift cards for clothing, food and groceries in memory of Ramon Arroyo.
