PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A new grocery store is set to open in downtown Providence this fall.

Rory’s Market and Kitchen announced Wednesday that they’re opening a new store on the bottom floor of the Nightingale Building on Washington Street in September.

The new Providence location will be the company’s third store. The first Rory’s opened in Dennisport, Massachusetts, back in 1978. The company opened a second store in Mashpee back in 2014.

“This is our first urban location, which gives us the opportunity to grow together in such a special city like Providence,” said Rory Eames, owner and namesake of Rory’s.

Customers shopping at the new 6,000 square foot store will be able to pick up local organic groceries as well as grab and go meals.

Rory’s will be the first grocery store to operate in downtown Providence.
