PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Cranston man is expected in court in connection to the serious crash Tuesday on I-195 West at the Seekonk exit.
The multi-vehicle crash closed the interstate at the Massachusetts state line and sent 13 people to the hospital.
The crash was reported just before 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The westbound side of the highway was shutdown until ten minutes before noon.
State police say a semi-truck didn’t stop for traffic and crashed into a dozen cars.
12 people, including the semi-truck driver, are hospitalized with minor injuries.
One woman is hospitalized with serious injuries, but is expected to be ok.
The truck driver is identified as 64-year-old Jon Main from Cranston.
Main will be arraigned when he gets out of the hospital.
