Driver and passenger suffer serious injuries after crash in Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Bridgewater Police Department said a man and a woman suffered serious injuries after a crash on Pine Street Sunday morning.

Emergency personnel responded to the crash around 7:20 a.m. to find a car suffering severe damage and debris blocking the road forcing a temporary closure to traffic.

The male driver was transported to Boston Medical Center with injuries that police believed were serious but non-life-threatening.

The female passenger was transported to the same hospital with severe, life-threatening injuries.

The department said a preliminary investigation indicated the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree head-on.

The incident is still under investigation.
