Driver charged with attempted murder after pedestrian struck in Brockton

BROCKTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Brockton Fire Department said that a pedestrian was flown to a Boston hospital after a car crash involving a building in the city.

Brockton police said that the driver of the car will be charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and attempted murder.

The crash occurred around 9 a.m. on North Main Street.

The department said that the crash involved a light pole and building in addition to the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was transported to the Good Samaritan Medical Center before being med-flighted.

The department added a building inspector assessed the damage to the building.
