Driver charged with DUI after Providence crash
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A driver in a fiery Monday night two-vehicle crash is being charged with DUI, according to the City of Providence.
Savonn Mom, 19, was driving the vehicle when it collided with another car at the intersection of Point Street and East Franklin Street, according to Providence spokesperson Anthony Vega.
Mom’s vehicle caught fire as a result of the crash but was quickly extinguished by arriving officials.
Mom and the passenger both sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash, as did the operator of the second vehicle.
The incident is under investigation by the Providence police Traffic Bureau.
