Driver dead following wrong-way crash in Berkley

BERKLEY, Mass. (WLNE)- The driver of an SUV, involved in a wrong-way crash in Berkley, died early on Sunday morning, according to Massachusetts State Police.

State Police said that 40-year-old Sara Paulo, of Somerset, was driving north in the southbound lane on Route 24 at about 1:40 a.m., when she crashed into an oncoming tractor-trailer.

Investigators were able to determine that Paulo was dead at the scene near Exit 13.

The driver of the tractor trailer, a 35-year old man from Santa Ana, California, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
